Operation title: Negova Stories
Operation acronym: Negova Stories
Sub-measure title: M19.2 – Support for the implementation of operations within the local development strategy led by the community
The NEGOVA STORIES operation will last for 10 months, from March 2021 to December 2021. The total value of the operation is €82,024.02, with 70% of eligible costs financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The operation is led by the Institute for Culture, Tourism, and Promotion of Gornja Radgona, with the Tourist Association Negova Spodnji Ivanjci as the project partner.
The goal of the operation is to enrich the tourist program at Negova Castle with original, modern, and engaging content that would attract more visitors, increase their spending, and extend their stay in the tourist region of LAS Prlekija. The project will enhance the visibility of the destination.
The project includes three main content activities:
- Establishment of a memorial room dedicated to Ivan Kramberger, featuring a hologram.
- Presentation of mofettes – a geological volcanic phenomenon in the Ščavnica Valley.
- Gamification with escape room elements at Negova Castle – an interactive exploration of the Negova Castle complex through stories, myths, legends, and exhibitions, designed for individuals, families, and groups.
Expected project impacts:
- Increased tourism revenue, contributing to the development of the local economy and improving quality of life.
- Preservation and creation of jobs.
- Conservation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage.
- Strengthening connections between local providers of complementary and related activities.
- Upgrading existing tourism programs (thematic trails, mineral springs, spa tourism, cycling).
- Positive environmental impact (reducing carbon footprint, protecting the landscape park).
Target groups:
Stakeholders and beneficiaries of the operation include:
- Stakeholders: Local providers of complementary and related content (tourist farms, spas, campsites, winemakers, local food producers, restaurants, artisans, craftsmen, tourist and cultural associations).
- Main beneficiaries: Families, couples, (young) adventurers and gamers, nature lovers, cyclists and hikers, wine tourism enthusiasts, rural tourism visitors, spa guests, excursionists, and cultural tourists.
The project was submitted in June 2020 under the 5th Public Call of LAS Prlekija for the selection of operations to achieve the objectives of the Local Development Strategy within the Local Action Group Prlekija, financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
Project co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
