The Herb day NEGOVAnJE
Herbalism, as part of broader folk natural knowledge and knowledge of the plant world, represents that aspect of intangible cultural heritage that has been shaped over millennia in the relationship between humans and nature. As an integral part of folk knowledge about plants and folk medicine, it encompasses the knowledge, practices, and skills of gathering, cultivating, processing, and using plants for edible, medicinal, and cosmetic purposes for home self-treatment and for sale.
Herbalists pass on their knowledge, survival skills in nature, and other practices related to gathering, cultivating, processing, and using herbs to the younger generation, which is the only guarantee that this long-undervalued form of intangible heritage will continue to live on.
The traditional Herbal Day at Negova Castle is dedicated to fostering such gatherings and preserving this valuable heritage.
