Avenue of the Greats
Gornja Radgona, due to its favorable location by the Mur River and at the foot of vineyards, as well as its strategic position, has always been a crossroads of various paths and a meeting place for many people. As such, this historically significant town has become a space where diverse creativity emerged and where various creators, scholars, and artists have flourished. Among them are eleven “inhabitants” of the Avenue of the Greats, who, through their work, have instilled hope in people both near and far and have awakened national and human pride. Some have notably impacted regional social and cultural events, while others have left a mark on national science and culture. Both continue to inspire and remain an indelible part of the city’s spiritual landscape.
