The Gunpowder Tower

The Gunpowder Tower, or “Pulferturm,” is located on a large grassy area near the house at Trate 6. It is a small, stone, prismatic building with vertical rectangular narrow light slits and a concave eave. The roof is tiled and pyramid-shaped. The stone portal is flattened and ends in a semicircular arch. The iron doors of the portal date back to the second half of the 18th century. There is nothing on the building that provides a solid basis for dating the tower. The “Pulferturm” is an important monument to the former defensive fortifications of Gornja Radgona, reflected in its architectural mass and individual details.
