Other Youth Organizations in the Municipality
Klinka
The Student-Youth Club Klinka is an organization dedicated to young people, students, the young at heart, and all those developing their interests and potential. The club offers a wide range of activities and serves as an inclusive space for young people, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and active social engagement.
The Youth Club Klinka was founded on February 6th. Just a year later, on February 18th, 2005, an amendment to the statute and the name was adopted at the club’s assembly, leading to the establishment of the Student-Youth Club Klinka. Since then, the club has been active in the administrative unit of Gornja Radgona, covering the municipalities of Gornja Radgona, Apače, Radenci, and Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici.
Throughout the year, Klinka organizes numerous projects, including:
Športaj s Klinko
Športaj s Klinko (Sport with Klinka) takes place annually at the traditional location of TŠC Trate. This one-day event is designed for everyone. Those with a competitive spirit can participate in various disciplines, while those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere can enjoy numerous stalls, excellent food vendors, music, and tournament viewing. A variety of activities are also provided for the youngest visitors. This now traditional event consists of two parts: the tournament section, featuring multiple competitions with prizes for the winners, and the presentation or non-competitive section, which annually offers a dose of innovation and extremity. Visitors can engage in relaxing activities while also discovering new and lesser-known sports and hobbies. The event is always free of charge, as the activists of ŠMK Klinka strive to make Sport with Klinka accessible to everyone, especially young people. Our goal is to highlight the importance of physical activity and demonstrate how a healthy lifestyle can significantly benefit one’s well-being. Additionally, we continuously work to improve the event each year by introducing new features and strengthening collaborations with local vendors and associations, inviting as many of them as possible from the Municipality of Gornja Radgona.
Fašenk
The one and only true Fašenk at the Pomurski Fair in Gornja Radgona attracts a large number of carnival masks every year. This already traditional event has been the biggest carnival concert celebration in Pomurje since its inception, drawing a massive crowd of masked revelers annually. We designed Fašenk around the principle of “great music for all tastes,” aiming to offer locals and other fun-seekers an evening of dancing, good music, and relaxation. We always ensure that there is a music genre to suit every visitor’s taste. Our vision also includes preserving the carnival tradition, which is why we organize a costume competition at every Fašenk and offer freshly baked donuts to all attendees free of charge.
Klizka
Every October, Klinka’s “N” bends under the influence of student parties and flips into a “Z.” Klízka thus becomes a “Klinka-tastic” party that happens once a year, attracting students, high schoolers, the young, the old, and the young at heart. Our goal is to gather as many new members as possible at Klizka, thereby maintaining the club’s vitality. Klizka also serves as the conclusion of the EDUCO project.
EDUCO
Every October, we dedicate a month to education. EDUCO is an event in which we organize educational workshops from various fields every weekend throughout the month.
Klinka’s Smaller Projects
Klinka also organizes many other smaller projects, such as raising awareness among young people on World AIDS Day and organizing pre-Christmas trips to various destinations. Every year, we also participate in the Red Bull charity run and the Three Hearts Marathon, organize fundraising campaigns for those in need, and carry out the project “Fewer Candles for Fewer Graves.” We actively participate in municipal events such as Martinovanje and Picnic in the Park. Additionally, we attend events organized by other student clubs, demonstrating our support and respect. Occasionally, we collaborate with the neighboring Youth Association Vrelec Radenci on larger joint projects, such as the Student Spritzer. We actively encourage young people to participate in society and strive to offer them a wide range of activities.
In the future, we aim to revive some of Klinka’s past events, such as “Let’s Cook Together,” which were discontinued due to circumstances like COVID-19.
The activists of ŠMK Klinka recognize the importance of representing a youth-worthy organization. Our goal is to engage young people who have not yet found their place in existing organizations and associations and to attract those seeking additional activities.
Our mission is also based on collaboration and networking with other associations and organizations working with young people, not only within the municipality but also at the regional and national levels, as well as with similar organizations across the EU.
We are aware that our activities do not yet extend to all municipalities within the Gornja Radgona administrative unit, but through continuous effort, we strive to expand our reach and proudly execute our projects in all municipalities.
STUDENTS, HIGH SCHOOLERS, AND ALL YOUNG PEOPLE, IT’S TIME FOR US TO SHOW OUR UNITY AND DO SOMETHING FOR A MORE MEMORABLE YOUTH FOR ALL OF US.
